Bargaining and dues issues

I realize that members of the bargaining unit are still being subject to AFSCME dues from their paychecks. Please understand that this transition is very new and the Labor Relations Unit and Payroll are working to cancel all AFSCME payments. FOP is also in the process of setting up payroll deductions for union dues. We hope that this can happen by February 1st, but March 1st would be the latest. We also discussed setting up negotiation session for collective bargaining. This will probably move pretty quickly. I will update everyone as soon as I can.

Are we able to keep making payments with the current system? I do not trust our states payroll department with processing anything on my behalf.

We are the ones who submit your name and signed application. They only plug in names. We are moving toward this payment type. We would like to keep everyone on the same payment type.
