EMRB dismissed the states petition
Today we learned that the EMRB, who rules on many NRS 288 issues in Nevada, dismissed the states petition for a declaratory order. The declaratory order they were pursuing was to establish that unfunded portions of the CBAs are no longer considered part of the contract language. For now the state will not be allowed to rely on this flawed concept as we proceed toward arbitration. They will almost certainly apply to the district court for such a ruling and we will be there to

Insurance Survey
Yesterday FOP sent out a survey via text message, requesting your information in order to submit to possible insurance providers. There are 1437 Lodge 21 members, but we have only received 180 submissions. Everyone was upset about the increses to insurance premiums. There were those who voiced their anger toward the union for not doing more, even though we do not have insurance as a mandatory subject of bargaining.
