Today we learned that the EMRB, who rules on many NRS 288 issues in Nevada, dismissed the states petition for a declaratory order. The declaratory order they were pursuing was to establish that unfunded portions of the CBAs are no longer considered part of the contract language. For now the state will not be allowed to rely on this flawed concept as we proceed toward arbitration. They will almost certainly apply to the district court for such a ruling and we will be there to fight them yet again. All should know this was not a singular effort. Multiple unions were involved in writing the opposition to this petition and all deserve credit for standing strong.
