Uniform Allowance 09/2025

I was curious if anyone has heard of when we will be getting our uniform allowance? Considering NEATS System is going down for maintenance for PP-08 and PP-09. We are required to submit them ahead of time as per state payroll.

NNCC 12's...

I apologize to beat a dead horse at this point about the 12's but I've been told that we're supposed to have our answer on the 18th of this month. If we do win the arbitration for it my only concern is if it will be honored. Since back in May when we won our CBA and the legislation just threw everything out and they were never held accountable for not honoring our good faith bargaining. I along with many other officers super hopeful that we do win this and everyone can enjoy their healthy work life balance again. Thank you guys for everything you do and I'm hoping good news!!

Hearing lots of rumors about this topic lately, Just to clarify -

while we’re hoping to receive the arbitration decision any day now, there’s no hard confirmation that it will land on the 18th. That date is when the facility is expected to post the shift roster for next year, which, as it stands, may reflect the current structure. However, with the arbitration outcome still pending, a change may be on the way.

NNCC payroll issue 7/7/25-7/20/25

Not sure if any other institutions are having this issue but a whole lot of NNCC yard has huge payroll losses. Pers nerly doubled for a lot of us and I personally was shorted around 9 dollars and hour on my paid regular pay.

Not to mention last pay period a lot of us were charged double insurance... Graveyard has notified shift command and they will be contacting HR since admin doesn't want us bombarding HR with a bunch of separate emails. We all have bills to pay and I personally now need to probably borrow money with interest for something I SHOULD have in my bank.... How is this ok? Anybody have any word on what Payroll is gonna do about this? If so please let me know so I can stop internally raging about it.

FMWCC is also experiencing similar issues with PERS, Regular Pay, OT per hour, etc. Does anyone know who to contact regarding this matter? Thank you kindly.

Removal From Post

I was wondering if anyone can help me out a bit. Shift command removed me from my post which was an exempt post. That I really don't care about, but don't I then get to pick what post I can go to based on what is available? I know that was done before, so I just want to make sure my information is accurate. I looked through the CBA but didn't see much about it. Is there anything in the CBA, or any kind of NAC or NRS about it?

Thank you very much!

Moving forward

So, since the state and governor are still trying to make sleights at us and seemingly every other union in the state what's FOPs next steps? It seems like the state and the governor don't want us to have anything despite the hard work that was put in during collective bargaining. We all appreciate the dedication and work you guys put in beyond belief, without you guys I wouldn't be here along with many other officers.

That’s a great question. It looks like AB 356 is going to pass, which will make it better on the timeline for bargaining. Bargaining will be complete by November before the session starts, which then makes it so the governor includes the cost of the CBAs in the budget. Now he still could say that the amount is inappropriate, but that would give us time to present a bill to get it funded outside of what he budgets for CBAs. We also would have the entire legislative session to work on the bill. Is ideal? No, but it is a step in the right direction. We also will be looking at changing the language of NRS 288, to try and move toward a more binding negotiation with regard to funding.

12 Hour Shifts?

Any update on getting 12's back? I haven't heard any updates since early March. Last I heard was, a judgement was to be made within 45 days. If possible, can we get an update on the current status?

I understand but I also feel like we haven’t been getting any updates and getting our 12s back is all that we really truly care about.

This has all just lead to ridiculous yard rumors and false hope from other staff members.

On 8 hour shifts I can’t wait to leave but I always loved coming to work after a long weekend.
