Proof status is no more

Be advised after a situation at one of the NDOC facilities yesterday and the quick actions of your Union(FOP), we have established that proof status will not be used in the NDOC. This was openly discussed with the DDO today who confirmed that this will not be done moving forward. To be clear LOI's were issued containing the provision to provide proof for any sick leave used. In addition, the LOI contained a further statement that the officers could not volunteer for overtime. After a brief but poignant discussion with the Warden last night, they did the right thing and rescinded the LOI's to all officers with no further documentation to follow. This is a mutual effort to ensure that officers are treated fairly and within the contract. There are going to be mistakes from time to time. This is a great example of respectful discussion on behalf of officers that worked and was well received by admin. Things happen even though the contract is in place, but we as a union respond professionally and appropriately to protect your best interests. Take advantage of our FOP October special which ends in 11 days. Free to sign up with no initial membership fee!!!!

As many as it takes to staff the prison as long as they follow the CBA.

Also file a legal defense claim form in order to assure your legal representation. Make sure to describe that you have been issued discipline in the form of a LOI.
