Body Armor

FOP is at it again! We are soliciting vendors who provide Body Armor for our Officers. Make no mistake about it, we are opening this up to all NDOC Officers, because member or not, you should all have the best safety equipment possible. I had a lengthy conversation with US Armor who does custom fittings for the vests that they provide. I have also had conversations with Safelife who has said they will provide a promo code for FOP members to obtain their Vest. Safelife does a height and weight measurement and their vests are half way adjustable. Both vendors said they will exchange incorrect sizes at no cost to you, if there is an issue. Now what I need from you is to go onto the Forum post and vote yes if you would take advantage of this FOP program. I need to know how many from each facility would get sized by US Armor to purchase a vest. I cannot provide the Safelife code yet, because I do not have it. The cost of the vest depends on how many orders we have at once. Without a volume discount included, the range of prices on vests from US Armor are $659-$1250. This range includes, stab level 2, stab level 3, ballistic level 3A, and a level 2 hybrid for both stab and ballistic. The hybrid vest is quoted at $987. Keep in mind the more of you who order, the higher the percentage discount everyone will get. The Director has already said he will approve this and to let him know what we need from him.
