Unit I CBA approved at the BOE

Brothers and Sisters, I am happy to report that I was there this morning, to witness the Board of Examiners meeting. The CBA for Unit I (Officers and Forensic Specialists 1-3) was approved. The vote was 2-1, with the Governor voting against the approval, based on his opinion that the state does not have the abilitiy to pay. This is out of his hands for the moment and the next step is the legislature funding the CBA via the bill that will be generated for that purpose. Once we have the bill number, we will pass on a letter to all of you so that you may sign and send it to your respective legislator urging them to support this bill. The letter will outline the importance of funding your raises in order to keep our agencies moving toward full staffing and retaining employess. If the bill is funded by the legislature, we will likely turn our sights on writing letters to the governor urging him to sign the bill for the same reasons. I strongly recommend that all of you join us in making your voices heard. We are one step closer to getting you all the CBA you deserve.
