12’s at NNCC

To all of you who work at NNCC, FOP is aware of the shift change to 8’s and we are working on our opposition to this change. Our Attorney will be starting on this issue tomorrow. I can’t give you an outlook on how this will go, but rest assured, we will fight this for you to the best of our abilities.

I myself and quite a few people I know are happy to go back to 8 hour shifts. 8 hour shifts work far better for time with family. The majority of people loudly complaining about losing 12's either don't have families or are fine not spending quality time with their families. I appreciate all the hard work FOP does for us Officers and I agree with Rose this time could be better spent on more important issues

Kind of unfortunate since I was hired on with the promise of 12's and schedule consistency, so I enrolled in school... This throws a wrench in things for me and I'm sure many others. Hoping you guys can sway this, thank you!!

Nothing like going from 4 and 3 days off to getting 2 days off then mandated on your Friday and if your on swing shift or graveyard being forced to work a piece of your weekend. I volunteer all the time on my weekends and so do many others. 8s will hurt my home life just like they did before. No thanks.

I hope they are able to figure something out. Having the doc hire a mass number of staff and using 12s as a benefit then to switch a year later is really messed up, I do not know about everyone but this causes undue harm to my personal life with family medical needs, schedule issues, extra stress, this career is stressful enough why add more to it? It makes no sense, we agreed to let the 4 hours be optional for the department yet they still switched to 8s. Everyone should wait until our attorney said whatever he said and if he can’t do anything grieve it. EVERYONE AS ONE. Also go to the doc and get FMLA weather i…
