Brothers and Sisters I have received the Arbitration Awards for both Unit I (officers) and Unit N (supervisors). I am so delighted to tell you that we won both arbitrations on compensation!!!!! I want to be very clear that we still have to work with the legislature and the Governor to get our CBA's funded. This was just the first step, but what a fantastic outcome for everyone, including the FOP team that worked so hard to get to this point. Our work is far from over. We have already been meeting with assembly members and senators to lobby for their support on this monumental step for our members. So let me give you the broad stroke highlights.
First for the Officers. If we can get everything funded and enacted, Officers, Senior Officers, and Forensic Specialists 1,2, and 3, will receive everything that you have received from the current CBA including holiday pay, retention payments, 45 minutes muster pay, uniform allowance, longevity pay, etc. In addition to that, which the state was trying to take away, you will receive a 3% pay scale increase and a 5% grade increase on July 1, 2025. then you will receive an additional 3% pay scale increase and a 5% grade increase on July 1, 2026. There are no real significant changes to any part of the rest of the CBA as the rest of the articles besides compensation will remain mostly identical. I would like to point out that of the arbitration awards I am currently aware of, this is the single largest salary increase in state of Nevada bargaining units as the others are looking at awards of 3% per year on salary. That is until you look at the Supervisors bargaining unit award.
Supervisors salary will now be permanently tied to officers salary, which would include the above 16% total increase over the two years. We have instituted a "spread" with supervisors pay which will guarantee that Sgt.'s and FS 4's will make 20% more than a CO or FS3. Lt.'s will make 20% more than a Sgt/FS 4. Not to mention you will now get the same holiday pay, retention payments, muster pay, uniform allowance, and longevity pay as the Officers/Forensic Specialists. We are still awaiting the arbitration award on the leave article, but we should get that this week as well. If we win the leave article arbitration, supervisors will receive the same leave benefits as officers/fs, including 480 hour max and yearly sell back option.
This is a monumental victory for FOP and we are honored to serve our members faithfully. We will finalize the CBAs and emails will be sent out with details on the ratification vote that will need to occur as soon as possible. Please pay close attention to your emails and our platforms, as we may ask all of you to submit letters to the legislature to support funding our CBA's. We all need to stand together so that they hear our voice in Carson City when it is time to vote. Solidarity throughout officers, forensic specialists, and supervisors. Remember we are on the opposite side of the table from the AW's, Wardens, and Directors. They all fought to keep these things from you. They are the ones who testified and even lied to try and keep you from getting your benefits. Rest assured it is FOP and its members that stand for you. We are the ones fighting for you, lobbying lawmakers, and meeting with the Governor to improve employee conditions for all of you. Stand with us and know the FOP Difference!!!!
First off I would like to thank you guys for all that you do. We would be mostly voiceless without you guys in our corner. Thank you. Not to sound ungrateful because I am grateful but do we have any news on 12s.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication!
Was there any news about 12hr shifts or the pers increase?
