Cell Phones HDSP & SDCC

After speaking with the Director yesterday, I am happy to report to all of you that the NDOC is taking measures to locate, record messages from, and disable cell phones on the yards at HDSP and SDCC. The phones that are disabled will never be functional again, even if they are taken to a cell phone company. The technology is targeted and can have certain numbers whitelisted, in order to allow certain administrator phones to function. Targeted areas will only include areas inside the facility. The areas outside of the fence will not be targeted by the technology, but beginning Monday, the crackdown on cell phones on the yard will commence. We look forward to this safety measure being implemented and getting functional cell phones out of inmates' hands.
