State Lodge meeting 10/16/21

Today was the state lodge meeting where we discussed various state issues. The national conference recap occurred, the Associates board members attended and were introduced. They are very close to getting open and adding members. Currently Nevada sits at 969 FOP members for the state with 16 pending with national. We discussed the COVID mandate and several entities around the country who have been successful in obtaining restraining orders against the mandate. I am in talks with 2 attorneys regarding filing an injunction on behalf of individual employees in our bargaining unit. This may prove difficult with the bargaining unit situation, but we will see where that goes. The national memorial takes place today on the Capitol Building property in Washington D.C. They anticipate roughly 700 names to be read for those officers who we lost in 2020 and 2021. We have another zoom meeting today with an insurance company to discuss a no cost life insurance for State of Nevada FOP members. I will keep you updated as to any developments with that.
