We lost one of our own

Brothers and Sisters I am posting the following with deep sadness. Officer David Levins, from HDSP, took his own life this past Sunday. I do not have any further details, but I ask that you all keep his parents in your thoughts and prayers. I also plead with each and every one of you if you have wellness needs or just need to talk to someone, we are available. We also have an officer wellness page on our website with several links to resources. Above you will find the copline link, which is a program where retired law enforcement officers are there to offer support 24/7. This is a very difficult time of year for many of our brothers and sisters. If you know someone that is having a difficult time, refer them to our website, or reach out and call me. If you're not comfortable talking to me, reach out to one of our many FOP representatives and we will direct you to useful resources in your time of need. This pandemic on our law enforcement family causes more losses every year than bad guys. I just found out about a murder suicide by one of our distant FOP Brothers in Illinois this week. Our mental health is a vital issue that we all need to give the due care that it deserves. Be safe and take care of each other.

I am sorry to hear this!!! It's unfortunate that we lost one of our own! Conditions need to be made better down south to help with moral, emotional stability, family issues and so much more! 12 hour shifts would drastically help, I pray his whole family grieves easy! Hopefully he's in a better place!
