Pers compensation holiday pay

Today we met with LRU to discuss the recent holiday pay. For some reason there was no additional pers contribution for those who elect the employee/employer PERS contributions. As discussed with LRU, they agree that the holiday pay is PERS compensable. They need some time to dig into the matter and get it corrected. The employer paid example I saw appears that they were compensated correctly.

Why is payroll so incompetent? The issues we are having with this payroll staff is becoming burdensome and unacceptable.

Great question, but I don’t have an answer for you. I do know they are really short staffed.

If they didn’t pay into pers for the employee/employer. Did they say if they payed into pers for the employer only. This will make a difference for retirement.

They didn’t have that information, but that is the entire basis for the conversation. Allen’s lay stub appears to have two different rates of pay for the POT codes. This would indicate that a contribution was made for employer only. We know it affects retirement and we are working to get this rectified.
